If you have a Dehumidifier or Humidifier being automated by HAVEN, you can now tell it exactly what Relative Humidity levels you want to keep it at for your family’s comfort and wellbeing.
The RH Setpoint is the average Relative Humidity value that your equipment will keep you at between on and off cycles. Something to be aware of is that HAVEN has a 6% Db (Deadband) setup which allows for some energy-saving wiggle room between these cycles.
So what does that mean for you?
Here’s an example for Dehumidifiers: Bob sets his Dehumidifier Setpoint to 55%. That means his Dehumidifier will kick on when his home’s Relative Humidity levels hit 58%, and turn off again when they drop to 52%.
Here’s an example for Humidifiers: Anna sets her Humidifier Setpoint to 40%. That means her Humidifier will turn on when her home’s Relative Humidity levels hit 37%, and turn off again when they drop to 43%.
Recommended RH Setpoint range
Based on ASHRAE and EPA standards, we recommend RH levels stay between 30–50% where possible. However, knowing this is not always comfortable or achievable in certain climates, you have control over your RH Setpoints between 10–90%.
HAVEN recommends consulting your HVAC service company for advice if you are adjusting your Setpoint outside of the recommended range.
Heads up!
In order to get the most out of your Humidity-controlling equipment, it’s important to have a Circulation Schedule setup for your main air handler (whatever is circulating the air throughout your home and allowing your HAVEN Monitor to sample the air). Without this, HAVEN won’t know when your Dehumidifier or Humidifier needs to be activated. Keeping your air active is at the very core of air quality.
